Saasu Vs Xero. A comparison.

Every company needs to have a clear view of their financial health to fully understand where their businesses are and where it needs to go. This is especially true for small businesses that rely on cloud computing to compete against companies with deeper pockets and more resources. That is why it is important to have a reliable accounting cloud software to help you keep track of your daily invoices, payroll and other important financial numbers.
At the forefront of cloud based accounting software are two relatively new players. Saasu and Xero are relatively new in the market dominated by the popular MYOB and Quick Books accounting software but they are slowly gaining exposure and more and more people are switching to these two platforms.

These two platforms are very similar in many ways. They offer a lot of the same features and they are priced closely to each other. The dashboard is relatively the same except for some difference in the wording. Both programs also offer extensive reporting capabilities where you can choose from different file formats, email and printing options. The two are also available in different currencies which can prove useful for exporters and people doing business overseas. However, when you look at the two even more closely, you would notice that there some distinct advantages and disadvantage between the two.
One of the first things you would notice with Saasu is its ability to connect to bank feeds straight from the software itself. With bank feeds you no longer have to put in each invoice manually into the system, the bank feed will do that for you. Although, Xero also offers bank feeds but one needs to go through either a sign up process that requires some paper work or through Yodlee that requires the user to go through another interface.
A feature of Saasu that you will not find in Xero is the Payroll function. This is especially important because the company payroll can get complicated when there are more than just one person on the list. In some cases, keeping track of the payroll can be difficult if there are complicated compensation packages involved. Xero offers employee time sheets and tracking through an Add on feature but this same feature is available through Saasu in standard fare. Fortunately, Xero plans to remedy these differences with its acquisition of Paycycle and is scheduled to offer this feature on May.
It is important to note that Xero does not hold all of the advantages against Saasu. Xero also has some useful features that are not available in their counterpart. One of the most important differences is the lack of a Goods and Service Tax exceptions reporting feature which Xero has. In addition, Saasu does not offer Google Map and Skype integration.
Now that we have gone through close inspection of the two programs, it shows that Saasu has more built in features than Xero. You can however, use different add ons to get the features you need, giving you flexibility.

I personally prefer to use Saasu over Xero because I do not particularly care for bothersome add ons. With Saasu, you get comprehensive reporting and accounting at an affordable package.
